The Scott Abbs Community Football Night is played in honor of Scott Abbs a former knight player and life time fan. Scott was a 4-year letterwinner and 3 time all conference player during high school and was a member of the 1967 conference champion team. After attending college, he returned to Kendallville and was the assistant plant manager at Krafts. He would support the football program as the team statistician. He continued in this position until his two sons played for the knights. Both of his sons would go on to play college football and his oldest, Troy, is now the head football coach at Trine University. Scott began a lengthy battle with cancer in the 90s which culminated with his death in 2004. His last trip was to the 2003 state championship game. He was a life time supporter of Knight football.
